Home decor is totally un-finished without beautiful window treatments. You can introduce the best statement pieces in your decor, but window treatment is what pulls together the room. But, selecting the style and look are most crucial since that's what will make or break a room. It should bring the right balance into the decor as well as functionality.
Here's how Barn & Willow drapes fit perfectly into a modern chic decor as well as in country cottage style homes.
Jaime Derringer, the Founder of Design Milk who recently decided to get her master bedroom redesigned by Orlando Soria of Homepolish decided to use our custom-made linen drapes.
Jaime's master bedroom had to be something that gave the "right amount of punch without feeling cluttered or overwhelming" - says Orlando.
He wanted to give it a unique makeover and so custom drapes, a nice couch as a statement piece and rugs were a must for him. Both Jaime and Orlando, loved our Belgian Laundered Linen - Dark Gray. They wanted a modern, neutral color to align with the rest of the theme in the room and thought our Laundered linen had the perfect weight and feel to make it a sure shot HIT.
Jaime and her husband love to sleep in pitch dark and they were having the hardest time finding drapes that blocked the morning sun. So, we decided to use a blackout liner with the drapes that would block sunlight and let Jaime and her husband snooze into the morning. A perfect example of bringing in functionality and aesthetics into your room.

They decided to go with a regular soft top style treatment to keep it casual and chic and chose brass curtain rods to pair perfectly with our Dark Gray linen draperies. The length of the draperies were kept just about half an inch above the floor so it could have a clean, contemporary look.

Then there are these drapes in Miss Mustard Seed's house which serve a much different purpose. These Belgian Linen Oyster drapes add a general homey feeling while still being classic and complimenting the surrounding decor. Miss Mustard Seed wanted something that aligns with her very neutral beige, white color theme of her family room and she also wanted the style to be very classic. So, she chose the Pinch pleat style for these linen curtains.

She wanted to keep the curtains drawn at night to offer some privacy but since she didn't want to block out all the sun we decided to line her curtains with a regular cotton lining (and not blackout lining).
So, choose your window treatments wisely - style, fabric texture and color will define your room.
