We know the holidays can be one of the most stressful times of the year, especially when you're the host for this year's gathering. Between coordinating everyone's arrivals, getting their rooms ready, and planning meals, hosting can be overwhelming, to say the least. But holiday hosting doesn't need to be a chaotic mess! Follow one or two of these simple tips to make your hosting duties easier, and your guests' stay more enjoyable.
1. Opt For A Potluck
Unless you're a master chef and enjoy whipping up feasts for your family, take the stress out of feeding everyone by throwing a potluck. You can still make a fun dish, but you don't have to worry about not having enough food, and you'll skip having to wash a million dishes. With everyone bringing something different, everyone will have something they'll eat.

2. Go Minimalist
You don't have to go all out for your home to look festive and beautiful for the holidays. With strategically placed pops of red and green and little sprigs of Spruce or Pine, you can make a winter wonderland without spending copious amounts of time decorating.

3. Plan Cookie Decorating
Kids love arts and crafts. What better way to exercise their creativity and keep them occupied than by setting up a cookie decorating station? The kids can cut the cookies out themselves or you can have the cookies already baked and ready to be festively decorated.

4. Enable Guests To Be Independent
By stocking a closet with extra blankets, spare toothbrushes and shampoo for your guests, you'll free up much of your time and give them a sense of independence.
