Customer Success Associate

We’re looking for an energetic, highly proactive and customer savvy individual to join our team as our Customer Success Associate.

Your core responsibilities:

  • Be the voice of Barn & Willow for our customers starting from the time they discover Barn & Willow
  • You'll be reaching out to individual customers/trade clients to assist them with one-on-one design consultation regarding window covering style, fabric selection, customization options and answer any questions.
  •  You'll be managing a pipeline of all our customers to clearly identify whom to reach out to and at what point in the customer's Barn & Willow journey. 
  • Understand from your pipeline of customers how their Barn & Willow experience was and own our customer review and Net Promoter Score (NPS) process.
  • Handle all customer order resolutions and one of exception cases
  • Manage all forms of customer email and our online instant chat communication channel
  • Participate in our weekly product meetings to inform the tech/product team about new product features, bug fixes that should be launched in order to facilitate a seamless customer experience.
  • Participate in monthly product and inventory planning meeting and discuss your key observations
  • Participate in any other ad hoc projects that may need your expertise and involvement. 

Must Haves:

  • 2-3 years of customer service experience as a customer success/service associate and/or a related function at a home decor, lifestyle brand is a must.
  • You MUST be someone who enjoys talking to customers and helping them with their questions
  • You're patient with customers, in answering their questions (over phone or emails) and never trying to cut short the conversation and make customer feel they didn't get a satisfying answer and never push hard for sales/closing the deal. We want to offer design recommendations to our customers that genuinely is the most ideal for their space. Making customers feel satisfied with how we helped them and believe in our design recommendation is what we would like you to prioritize. 
  • Excellent communication skills and very strong at clienteling. You don't feel intimidated at all to talk to customers over phone. Very comfortable with all channels of communication - be it phone, emails or online chat. 
  • Some prior knowledge of the window coverings industry is a huge plus
  • Should be somewhat tech savvy and know how to manage email inbox, schedule calendar meetings, Google docs etc and manage customer pipeline through our CRM tool (we'll provide you training with our tool) .

Customer Operations Specialist

We’re looking for an energetic and highly proactive individual to join our team as our Customer Operations Specialist. 

Your core responsibilities:

  • Daily order packaging, fulfillment and order support
  • Stock inventory management and creating requisitions for re-stocking
  • Handling inbound customer and/or vendor inquiries (through email primarily)
  • Exception handling with customers and/or vendors over emails or phone (if applicable)
  • Being an integral part of customer success team, working on customers’ postorder journey

Must Haves:

  • You MUST be driven and highly motivated to work in an unstructured environment
  • Known to be a rockstar for getting things done, very organized and resourceful
  • You MUST be fast paced yet detail oriented 
  • Very comfortable speaking with our vendors/customers over phone and email
  • Great interpersonal skills and absolutely enjoy collaborating with other team members.
  • This role is based in Redwood city and local Bay Area candidates are preferred (No relocation will be provided)
  • Must have access to your own laptop
  • You should have your own car to go to local warehouse (if needed) and order drop offs at USPS
  • You should be tech savvy and comfortable with some excel based modeling and using fulfillment management tools.

This will be a contract (part-time) to hire role. 4-5 hours of daily engagement to begin with.

Marketing Associate

We’re looking for a smart thinker who is marketing savvy, loves to put on a creative hat and super execution oriented to join our team as a Marketing Associate 

Your core responsibilities:

  • Lead and exponentially grow our social outreach and engagement initiatives. We love to see MoM growth
  • Work with head of marketing to build social media campaigns to increase engagement, interactions, and Share opportunities
  • Create weekly blogs in alignment with our monthly campaign theme, SEO and customer engagement best practices
  • Identify relevant guest bloggers and manage the guest blogging process end to end
  • Create and own weekly email newsletters. This includes creating content and the newsletter design
  • Manage our Influencer program. This includes working with our head of marketing to identify relevant influencers and work on sponsored collaborations with these influencers
  • Manage Giveaways and product partner collaboration process
  • Create weekly reports for new user acquisition, engagement and ROI through newsletters, social media, influencers and all other relevant organic marketing channels

Must have:

  • At least 2 years experience handling social media, email newsletter and blogs for an eCommerce company
  • Prior experience with lifestyle brand and/or consumer focussed company preferred
  • Believe in GETTING THINGS DONE, FIXING IT and SHIPPING IT.
  • Smart thinker and highly execution oriented. One but not the other won’t help
  • Very detailed oriented and obsessive about design, font style and site aesthetics
  • A social media pro - you’re always on top of things through your social media
  • Can initiate conversations with press, bloggers, influencers, and other industry contacts if required

Sales Manager (Trade - Interior Designers)

We are looking for a highly experienced sales executive to be our Trade Sales Manager to manage our Interior designer clients.

Must Haves:

  • 5+ years of experience managing trade segment for home decor retail and/or textiles industry. Relevant home decor industry experience is a MUST. 
  • You have held sales positions for major part of your professional career and have an established network of designer, architects and other trade professionals that you'e interacted with on a regular basis.
  • You're pro at identifying new leads, new market potential, close sales and successfully manage account relationships 
  • You are extremely driven and motivated to get in front of the designer community (whether that be over phone or emails) at the same time be a liaison with the business teams and contribute to product roadmap.
  • You are an excellent thinker, can communicate and articulate very well and sell your ideas.
  • You should have a strong passion for home decor and design. This is a must.
  • Love the energy, chaos of a startup yet believe in the company and growth potential. 

Responsibilities:

  • Outbound reach out to the existing pipeline of designers and drive sales. Customer engagement and sales are the key performance indicators. 
  • Identify new designers and new markets to go after, build the pipeline and close deals. 
  • Exceed monthly sales targets as well as customer retention metrics.
  • Build excellent rapport and relationship with clients and demonstrate excellent clienteling skills including following up with clients regarding promotions, new product arrivals etc.
  • Work very closely with Operations and marketing team to inform and coordinate new product launches, communications etc.

Ecommerce Merchandiser

We're looking for a Merchandising and product strategy superstar as a consultant/advisor, potentially converting to full time. Our ideal candidate is someone who lives, breathes and thoroughly understands the home decor space specifically window coverings and textiles.

Your core responsibilities:

  • You will help inform what designs, color trends, patterns new products should we be launching next 
  • You will be liasoning with our existing textile mills to source samples as well as identify new textile mills to partner with (across the world)
  • You will be managing the whole process of new fabric/product launch starting from mills to partner with, sampling all the way to product on the site
  • We would like to start launching new collections every quarter and you will be the main POC to create and manage the launch calendar and execute a smooth launch
  • Create monthly reports of customer trends for home decor and window coverings

Must have:

  • Looking for someone who has at least 3+ years of prior retail merchandising experience for other window coverings brands, home decor brands and/or textile fashion houses
  • Window covering and textiles product knowledge is key to this role, including understanding of fabric textures, weave etc
  • We’re a startup, and moving fast is key to our customers’ success and happiness. You should be highly proactive self-starter and get things done quickly
  • Ability to share a point of view about product assortment and business
  • Strong organization skills and highly detailed oriented
  • Ability to quickly identify competitive landscape, newer trends and work on a plan for next launch

Software Engineer Full Stack

We are looking for a Full Stack engineer to own the product roadmap. You should be be able to effectively contribute on product, user experience and tech feasibility on an on-going basis.

  • Self-directed, motivated and has experience owning product roadmap.
  • This role requires you to own and execute the entire product vision
  • A desire to build an engaging consumer experience
  • Hard working and dedicated proficiency with relational databases (MySQL, etc.)
  • Build and maintain backend architecture that is scalable, extensible, and efficient
  • Experience in full stack web-application development Node.js, JavaScript, jQuery, Backbone/Angular/Ember, React, CSS, HTML 
  • Comfortable with logging, monitoring, tracking and deployment tools/APIs
  • E-commerce experience is a huge plus 
  • Mobile web development expertise a big plus
  • 3+ years experience as backend software engineer
  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent

Visual Designer (Contract)

We’re looking for a creative visual designer to join our team

 

Core responsibilities:

  • Manage end to end design process for all our customer emails including weekly newsletters, email drips and transaction based emails.
  • Support our front end team for site redesign projects by translating design requirements into visually workable designs
  • Handle some of our social media and branding design projects  

 

Must haves:

  • At least 2 years of solid design skills including layout, typography, color, design guidelines
  • Solid understanding of web and mobile user experience and technologies
  • Expert at Photoshop and/or Sketch, PSD or equivalent
  • Some working knowledge of Mailchimp, Shopify is a plus
  • Prior startup eCommerce experience hugely preferred
  • Can work remotely but must be able to work from our office at least 1 day a week.
