Home Decor Trends from Paris: Maison et Objet

I was at Maison&Objet in Paris this month - Europe's largest home fashion show for designers, retailers, and manufacturers to reveal their latest collections, concepts and designs for home interior design in 2015 and beyond.

Here are some of the most popular trends that emerged at Maison&Objet and will be seen in modern, chic homes.

1. Watercolors and pastel shades

Watercolor treatments, cool hues and pastel shades were seen everywhere. Starting from potteries, lamps, fabrics, throw pillows to wooden furniture pieces. Introduce these colors in your room to create a chic look.

2. Geometric Patterns

Throw pillows, throws, rugs and some wall decor pieces had interesting geometric patterns. What was even more interesting is how some designers had transformed urban city structures like roads, city line, buildings into simple patterns on fabrics.

Definitely something that will be seen in homes over the next few years.

3. Use of Metal for lamps and chandeliers

Interesting accent lamps are absolutely gorgeous. In fact, one of the best ways to completely accessorize the look of any room is to introduce some key light elements.

Here are some stunning lamps and chandeliers

I love the Space-Age designed lamps reported by Apartment Therapy.

4. Functional framed mirrors

Mirrors add character to any wall, but gone are the days of iron decorative framed mirrors. Here is a round mirror framed in an enlarged piece of wood - That's what I call "Clean Simple Design"

Here are some other unique concepts by popular designers at Maison & Objet 2015
